Anitta is not nominated for the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. The Brazilian, who had been nominated last year for the hit “Envolver”, did not appear on this year’s list, and this fact irritated her fans.
Through social media, many showed their dissatisfaction. Anitta has just released singles from the album “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story”. The full album should arrive next year.
“Zero nominations for Anitta in this fifth category award. I see this as a release, especially because her level goes far beyond this flop award”, wrote a follower.
“And Anitta continues without a Grammy for pagode, samba, pop, funk or any other rhythm”, posted another. “The Grammys snubbing Brazilian artists in the main categories just shows that they always boycott anyone who sings Portuguese, no matter if you deliver impeccable work”, published another.
It is worth remembering that the Grammy only accepts recordings released between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023. “Funk Rave”, the winning song at the last VMA, reached the general public in August. The most recent works by Luísa Sonza and Jão follow the same example.
The Grammys announced this Tuesday (19) the nominees for the award, which should be held on November 16 in Seville, Spain.
In the recording of the year category, singers Rosalía were nominated, with the song “Despechá”, Karol G, with “Mientras Me Curo Del Cora” and Shakira, with the hit “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”.
But the one who leads the list of nominees is composer and producer Édgar Barrera, with 13 nominations. Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo had seven nominations this year, the same number as Shakira and Karol G.
