Wardruna live in Herodeion for a “journey” to the age of the Vikings

Wardruna, the musical phenomenon made world famous by the hugely successful series ‘Vikings’, will be at the iconic Herod’s Atticus Conservatory for the first time, for one of their rare concerts. Wardruna means ‘the keeper of secrets’ or ‘she who whispers’. The eponymous band from Norway has taken the world by storm with its immersive sound and impressive shows unlike anything else in the entire music industry.

The Man from Padolsk, by Dmitry Danilov directed by Giorgos Koutlis at the Kivotos Theater

The National Theater presents for the second year the play “The Man from Padolsk” by Dmitri Danilov, directed by Giorgos Koutlis. The show critiques the dominant culture of our time, which mandates that you derive pleasure from all that is gloomy around you and that you must have positive energy. At the same time, the work rings a warning bell about how the mechanisms of repression use the most imaginative and sophisticated ways to lead the citizen to a forced “happiness” and from there to self-repression.

Story: Nikolai, a resident of Padolsk, a colorless city in the Moscow region, is arrested without knowing why and is taken to a police station in the Russian capital. There he is confronted by the police officers of the department, who subject him to an eccentric interrogation, which includes from observational and kinesthetic exercises to questions concerning the history of his city, avant-garde art and his love affairs. A psychological interrogation that, until its unexpected development at the end of the play, tests the limits of his logic.
