The kickoff for the celebrations for Ivete Sangalo’s 30th anniversary, celebrated in 2024, has already been scheduled. This Wednesday (21), Ivete announced that she will perform an unprecedented show at Maracanã, on December 20th this year, broadcast live on Globo.
She then goes on tour across the country, with performances in 30 cities, in stadiums and arenas. Keeping the appropriate proportions in mind, the Rio megashow will be replicated in other exhibitions. The party at Maracanã marks the first time that TV Globo will show a year-end special live, for the whole of Brazil, right after the 9pm soap opera.
Take care of yourself, Roberto Carlos? She assures him not.
“While you are a queen, you need to have majesty and respect others. No one takes the place of a king. A king is a king”, he states. “I would never put myself in that position, I wouldn’t let him see his specialness, it’s in our DNA.” Ivete knows that she is one of Globo’s current favorites and seems to be aware that her special could be proof of what she is capable of. An experiment, “let’s see what happens”. After all, with all due respect to Roberto, renewal is necessary.
“Really, I have two programs, Globo is like my home, we know exactly that that channel has its majesty. Respect and you will be respected.” Boninho, entertainment director at Globo (and Roberto’s specials), was also at the press conference and confirmed that the singer remains on the schedule, with a show guaranteed in 2023.
The recording of the RC special is scheduled for November 29th, in Rio.
In preparation for the show at Maracanã, Ivete also announced that she will release a new EP before Christmas (take care, Roberto). The material will consist of three tracks, two of which were recorded in partnership with artists who “always wanted to record”, but did not provide further details. The third song is dedicated to the fans, a 2.0 version of the track “Fã”, released by Ivete in 1998 with Banda Eva.
Including Maracanã, there will be 30 shows throughout Brazil, with part of the tickets being charitable. According to the CEO of 30e, Pepeu Corrêa, responsible for the presentations, it will be the biggest national tour in the country. “At the end of the 30 shows, we will record a DVD. It is a compilation of the 30 meetings and there will be a celebration to close it. We will contemplate several places. I will arrive by rocket at the end (laughs)”, says Ivete.
On the television side, Ivete continues to focus on her two well-known programs. In addition to Pipoca da Ivete, which premiered its new season last Saturday (16), on Globo, the artist returns to command The Masked Singer, which will have its fourth edition starting in January, on Globo (where else?).
“Ivete is a party that Globo is extremely proud of”, guarantees Boninho. “This year we delivered a little of what she is on the program, we are being approached by brands, it was better than last year’s debut.”
Ivete will also open the Globeleza Carnival program, broadcast on Globo by Trio Pipoca da Ivete, on the Thursday before the weekend.
Still during the festivities, the traditional Bloco Coruja will go out in a procession for three days in Bahia — one decade will be honored per day. “The block will be entirely my responsibility”, she added, receiving applause from her fans.
On social media, Ivete also formalizes her partnership with Titkok, with two specific actions: the web series Ivete 3.0, with six episodes between September and October next year, which will explore the singer’s affinities; and On the road with Ivete, a videocast in which the Bahian woman talks to a guest while driving, similar to James Corden’s format.
To package the entire project, Ivete launched the Ivete 3.0 brand, based on 3 pillars: Empathy, plurality and relaxation. “I wanted to talk about something that’s coming, the idea of infinity is supposed to be a vicious cycle and the brand was so immediate from Reivete-se, it was enlightening how they did everything we talked about.”
With so many movements, Ivete guarantees that she remains sovereign as the owner of her career. “I’m the one who takes care of my career, and Ivete wouldn’t be a professional singer if she wasn’t equipped with a strategy. From a career point of view, it’s me, but my whole life I’ve been in charge of my guidelines and knew how to recruit people. Cycles open and close”, he concludes.
