Dinamo Zagreb started their duties in an impressive way, in the group stage of the Europa Conference League. The Croatian side thrashed Astana 5-1 for the biggest win of the night. A great game was played in Belgium, which was decided in the last minutes. Club Brugge took the lead in the 77th minute, but Besiktas equalized in the 88th minute, leaving with a draw.
Fighting but falling short in their European group debut were Claksvik of the Faroe Islands, who were beaten 2-1 by Slovan Bratislava, and Breidablik of Iceland, who lost 3-2 to Maccabi in Tel Aviv.

With… out of the qualifiers!
Maccabi Tel Aviv extended their unbeaten run in the qualifiers (4-2-0), which defeated Breitblick 3-2 and started with… the right! The team from Israel seemed to “clean up” the match in the first half, as by the 32nd minute they had taken a three-goal lead. The Icelandic team, in their first appearance in a European group, did not give up and by the 55th minute had reduced the difference to a minimum, but could not achieve the epic upset.
In neutral Lublin, Poland, Zoria and Ghent drew 1-1. It all happened within four minutes. The Belgians took the lead in the 67th minute and the Ukrainians equalized in the 70th minute. The result typically leaves the hosts satisfied, since they were the underdogs of the match.

Five points for Dinamo – Victoria is anxious
Premiere with the… right wing for Dinamo Zagreb, who crushed Astana 5-1 and made it “three out of three” against the champions of Azerbaijan. How does this come about? From the fact that the Croatians had scored two more victories in the 2nd qualifying round of this year’s Champions League. The first half was divided and the score opened in the 42nd minute with a penalty. But, in the second, Maksimir… leaned over and the score was missed. And just like that, the return of the Azerbaijanis to European groups after a four-year absence was accompanied by a heavy defeat.
With a lot of effort and stress, Viktoria Plzen got the first points in their first appearance in the Europa Conference League. This is the Czech team’s ninth appearance in the group stage of a European competition, but the first time in the third-tier European club competition. The “golden” goal came in the 73rd minute.

It became… a draw
The two games of the premiere ended without a winner. In Belgium, the evening’s derby was played between Club Brugge, who are taking part in the competition for the first time, and Besiktas, who were coming off six wins from as many games in the qualifiers. The final 1-1 was formed in the final and is considered fair.
There was no winner in the Swiss match between Lugano and Bodo Glimt either. Despite the efforts of the players of both teams, no goal was scored and 0-0 was the final result.
