Fuego: The authentic Spanish flamenco in a performance by Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura at Herodeo

The “flame” and the passion of flamenco come again to Athens, with the Antonio Gades Group, to seduce us to the unique rhythms of the authentic Spanish flamenco, in a mystical evening under the Acropolis, in the Herodes Atticus Conservatory, on Friday, September 22, at 9:00 p.m. Epitomizing the quintessence of Gades’ philosophy – “I return to tradition to evolve” – ‘Fuego’ is the story of a young couple deeply in love, whose relationship is complicated when a charismatic and seductive bullfighter enters their lives. The bullfighter seduces the woman and causes tension and jealousy between the two men. The intense emotions of love, desire and rivalry are expressed through the dynamic dance and music of flamenco.

Doctor Ineotis, by Giorgos Heimonas at the Fournos Theatre

The enigmatic work of Giorgos Heimonas “Doctor Ineotis” is presented, from September 22, 2023, at the Fournos Theater. A play about death, about the end of humanity and about the need for a new kind of people to appear after us, a kind higher wiser and more just. Like all the texts of Giorgos Heimonas, Doctor Ineotis is a psychoanalytical text, like a dream or like the voice of the unconscious. And the performance we made in this way tells the story, mainly with images, music and with the bodies of the actors, fragile vulnerable and defenseless before the eyes of the spectators. *Director: Kostas Koutsolelos, Dora Stylianesi.
