It appears that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to reconnect with Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, who are Prince Charles’ younger brothers and Harry’s uncles, in order to mend their relationship with the royal family and win back the her favor. This reunion was announced by Hollywood expert Mark Boardman in the columns of UK magazine OK!.

“Meghan and Harry appear to have reconnected with Sophie and Edward and this renewed contact may help them return to the royal household,” Boardman said, adding, “Despite the significant age difference, the two couples have undergone intense public criticism over the years, which brought them closer together.”

However, an inside source told Page Six exclusively that “there is no truth to these allegations. There has been no conversation between the families listed regarding the issues being proposed or in this case being constructed,” the source said. Despite this, Boardman argued that Sophie has been “constantly a confidant” for King Charles’ second son and that recent interactions between the two couples show the “continued bond” between Harry and Sophie.

Harry and Meghan Markle appear to have grown very close with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh since Prince Charles took over the throne in September 2022, following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express that the Sussexes’ friendship with Prince Edward is relatively recent.

“In the past, relations between these two couples were not very close,” Fitzwilliams told British media.

It appears the queen, who has since passed away, hoped Sophie, who is 58, would help Meghan Markle adjust to royal life, but that relationship never developed.

“Neither Meghan nor Harry were born royals and both, especially Meghan, have suffered from press harassment,” Fitzwilliams said. “Both had ambitions to combine royal status with other activities after joining the royal family and found that was not possible.”

The royal expert pointed out that there is “no evidence” that the Sussexes have ever fallen out with Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie amid their estrangement from other family members.

“If the Sussexes reconnect with them, they, unlike Princess Eugenie, have real influence,” Fitzwilliams said, adding, “Who knows what effect it could have.”
