The exploitation of energy sources in the Eastern Mediterranean jointly with Cyprus, even without a political solution to the Cyprus issue and to the standards of Israel’s agreement with Lebanon, was proposed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidanas reported by the correspondent of SKAI in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis.

“Waiting for the final solution on the island (i.e. Cyprus) in order to benefit from energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean is not a good situation for both the region and the world,” stressed the head of Turkish diplomacy, adding :

“As Turkey, our point of view is the same as hers TRBK. In other words, without waiting for a political solution, both sides equally share the potential of energy sources. This is possible. There are recent examples in the world. One such example, and I mention it because it is in the Eastern Mediterranean, is that of the Israel-Lebanon agreement. Why shouldn’t there be a similar agreement in the Eastern Mediterranean, in Cyprus”.

Referring to the bombing, Hakan Fidan said that “as a result of the investigation by our security forces, it became clear that two terrorists came from Syria and were trained here.” From now on, all infrastructure, superstructure facilities and energy facilities belonging to the PKK/YPG in Iraq and Syria are the legitimate target of our security forces.”
