About his experimental new album, his current obsession with German expressionist cinema and his bond with Elliot Page over their shared love of Brian Eno, he spoke in an interview with Dazed. A$AP Rocky.

For years, he has been collaborating with Gucci, participating in campaigns and having appeared in the house’s shows. “I think Gucci is one of those brands that is really open-minded to a lot of new and fun ideas. I love that they are always willing to revise or make changes to some pieces depending on what I like and my style preferences. Let’s go hand in hand in this” says.

For being approached about the scent, declares that “it was an honor to be part of the Gucci Guilty Elixir campaign. I was really happy, I was glad that they recognized my beauty (and he laughed)».

The shooting of the campaign «they gave me so much satisfaction because I really like cinema and I think her cinematography was really authentic. Not only original, but I co-starred with some really talented actors, male and female». For his co-stars, he emphasizes: “After I met them, they were sweet and amazing and I think for everyone the chemistry was just perfect. And the choice of music tracks was good. We sang songs and me and Elliot talked about Brian Eno; for hours. Was amazing» he adds.

Gucci Guilty perfume «it takes me back to a kind of nostalgia… in a way it takes me back to my childhood, my youth. I don’t know if it’s the vanilla or the leather notes but it definitely takes you back to a certain period.” He says he started wearing cologne when he was about two or three years old and points out that his taste in perfumes hasn’t changed since becoming a father: “I just like the way my babies’ heads smell, like newborns when you smell. their little heads, there’s nothing like that smell. And I think this needs to be Gucci’s new fragrance (and laughs again)».

He is a musician and will release a new album soon. “As usual, I really experimented and what I like is that it looks like my best work to date,” he says and doesn’t give details: “I want to leave expectations wide open. I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it the way they naturally do».

Is there anything specific about this period that inspires him? “I am inspired by German expressionist cinema. I really love the movie Metropolis (directed by Fritz Lang). And Tim Burton. He is the leader. The greatesthe answers.
