Luísa Sonza is uncomfortable with a question in Fantástico and almost abandons the interview

A recording of Fantástico last Wednesday (11) caused discomfort at Globo. Interviewed by Poliana Abritta, singer Luísa Sonza refused to talk about the case of lawyer Isabel Macedo, who accused her of racism in 2018 — the refusal started a tense phase of the chat.

The case took place at the Rio Court of Justice and only became known in 2020. At the time, the singer was at an event in Fernando de Noronha and asked Isabel, who is black, to bring her a glass of water. Sonza still insisted: “Don’t you work here?”

The action was finalized in August 2023, after a legal agreement between the parties. Luísa spoke publicly about the episode only once, on her social network, in October 2022, when she recanted. “I’m treating this situation as an opportunity to try to be better.”

During the Fantástico recording, Luísa did not abandon the interview with Poliana, but she was visibly uncomfortable and said she did not want to talk about the subject again. The chat between the two came to a halt at the request of the singer, who would perform a pocket show afterwards. She threatened to leave, but was dissuaded from the idea.

After the break, Luísa concluded the recording, in a much less relaxed tone, and followed her schedule. She sang to an audience made up of Globo employees and influencers. Behind the scenes, the artist’s attitude surprised those who participated in the recording, and the case reached Globo’s journalism department.

The interview with Luísa is scheduled to be shown in the last week of October, as there are other artist shows recorded at Fantástico in line to be shown. It is not yet known whether, during editing, the program will cut Poliana’s question or whether it will be kept.

Contacted by F5, Globo reported that Luísa Sonza did not abandon the recording and that she fulfilled the scheduled schedule. Globo also says that Luísa did not refuse to answer any questions.

Luísa Sonza’s advisor was contacted since last Wednesday (11) by email and telephone, via WhatsApp messages, but did not respond to requests for positioning. If the singer or her team responds, the report will be updated.
