The legendary bus in which Paul McCartney and his band Wings toured Europe in the 1970s is being auctioned by Julien’s Auctions next month with an estimated sale price of between $200,000 and $300,000.

The famous bus known as ‘WNO 481’ is a fully rebuilt 1953 Bristol KSW double-decker which stands out for its Geoffrey Cleghorn psychedelic artwork on its exterior.

They are inspired by the cover of the Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ album and reflect the colorful hippie style and ‘free love’ attitude of the era.

The co-founder of the house, Martin Nolan, describes it as the “caravan of absolute magic and love”.

It was bought by Paul McCartney and his wife Linda when they embarked with band members Denny Laine, Henry McCullough and Denny Seiwell and their families on their first tour in the summer of ’72.

The bus traveled more than 12,000 kilometers in nine European countries, including France, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands.

The vehicle was spotted a few years ago in Spain and brought to the UK. It took 16 months to restore it before it was unveiled at the 2022 Birmingham NEC Classic Motor Show.
