A fairytale, royal ball took place last night at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, for the 18th birthday of Prince Christian of Denmark.

Members of royal families from Europe along with more than 200 young people from Denmark “who have made their mark in the world of sport, arts and culture” gathered to celebrate the prince’s special day.

The beautiful dresses, the tiaras, but also the military uniforms had their due. And, just like in the fairy tale, one young guest – as another Cinderella – left the dinner without her…

The Danish palace – following the fairy tale of Cinderella – searched for the owner with a post on its personal Instagram account and a snapshot of the impressive slipper that was found after the end of the celebration.

Who is Cinderella who forgot her shoe last night?“, the palace account managers wrote in the caption. “When the guests at Her Majesty the Queen’s official dinner had left this solitary stiletto heel was left at Christiansborg Palace. The owner is welcome to contact us to get it back.”

In the end the owner of the shoe was one of the lucky guests, 18-year-old Anne-Sofie Tørnsø Olesen, from Egedal, Denmark.

“I found it a bit funny. I talked to my family and friends about it earlier and they agreed that I should do it,” she told Se & Hør magazine, adding that she wants it back to remind her of the “wonderful night” she had.
