The State Theater of Northern Greece expresses its sadness for the death of the actor Ayantas Manthopoulos.

The well-known actor, in addition to his theatrical roles, starred in very successful series and became more widely popular through the series “Two Strangers”.

Aias Manthopoulos was born in Athens and although he studied economics, he was eventually won over by art.

In the theater he had collaborated with notable directors while he had participated in many television jobs, with his participation in the series Two Strangers remaining one of the most successful of his career.

He has played in the series The Vendetta (1986), Africa (1992), The Third Crown (1995), Sophia the Righteous (1996), Like Winter Sunshine (2000), while doing episodes from The Unacceptable, The Throne Room, The Stables of Erietta Zaimis, the Red circle, and Konstantinou and Eleni and Someone to guard her.

His last TV appearance was in ‘Red River’ in 2020 where he played a Turk.

He had collaborated with the State Theater of Northern Greece in three performances:

The funeral of Ayantas Manthopoulos will take place on Friday, October 20 at 11 am in the Peania Cemetery in a close family circle.
