At the moment, Arnold Schwarzenegger is in London to promote his new book “Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life”.

In an interview with the BBC, the former Hollywood star and current politician he spoke – among other things – about the upcoming presidential elections in the USA.

Schwarzenegger expressed gratitude for the way Americans “embraced” him– both as an actor from the beginning of his career, in “To Kill the Barbarian” and as a politician later (he was Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, with the Republicans)

For all his accomplishments, there is one thing Arnold Schwarzenegger will never be: President of the United States.

The US constitution states that in order to become president one must be born nationality. The 76-year-old star hails from Thal, Austria, where he lived until the age of 19.

“I feel like I would make a great president,” Schwarzenegger declared with absolute certainty (in “Terminator” style).

Everything I have achieved is because of America, which gave me so many opportunities and the American people were so welcoming and welcomed me with open arms. The only thing I can’t do is run for president, but I’m not going to complain about that,” he said.

However, he does not lose hope that one day he may occupy the highest office in the land: “We need immigration law reform to change that. But I’d be a bit selfish if I go out and try to change the law.”

Regarding the two candidates Biden and Trump for the presidential race next year, Schwarzenegger said: “It seems strange to me that we have two candidates who are 80 years old, I hope that America will find younger candidates, in their 40s or even 50s and give it a chance.’
