Tata Werneck gets emotional when talking about her daughter’s wrong test: ‘I said there was something serious’

Tata Werneck never hid from anyone that her pregnancy was not at all peaceful. Far from it. On Friday night (27), she gave more details about the difficulties she faced giving birth to Clara Maria, four years old, her daughter with Rafa Vitti. Tata spoke about the subject and was moved when talking to Fátima Bernardes, on Assim Como a Gente, the journalist’s new program.

“I suffered a lot, I was very ill, I spent two months in bed, I vomited 40 times a day. And people judged me a lot for complaining. The first thing I said when she was born was: ‘Daughter, forgive me for not having still the dimension of what it means to be your mother'”.

The actress said she feared being judged for complaining about motherhood and being judged as a mother who doesn’t love her daughter. The difficulties, she recalled, did not cease when Clara Maria was born. “The heel prick test came back wrong, it said she had something serious. Another one came and it was wrong again. We did a genetic test, which came out two months later and then they said she would be fine. I kept looking at her and thinking how I was going protect the greatest love I have in life”, he said.

When the subject involved Tata’s unshakable faith, Fátima became even more emotional — she, mother of triplets, already seemed very touched by the story. “I was raised by my grandmother and she was a woman of great faith. Even at the time of her death, she said she was going to see Jesus, that she was happy.”

Tata also spoke about his prayer routine with Clara Maria, whom he calls Cacá. “Before going out, before going to sleep… I explain in a playful way, that small things are beautiful signs of life. Rafa teaches her to smell the plants, for example. I also call this faith, looking at the little things “, he said.

Another topic of the interview was her marriage to Rafa, Cacá’s father. He is 12 years younger than her — and big boys never attracted her, he assured. But with Rafa it was different. It was written in the stars, she said. An astrologer would have warned her about the upcoming relationship.

“He said that I was going to meet a boy in January, and that I was going to get married. I found Rafa, in a tank top, and called the astrologer. He told me it was him. I fought against it, I didn’t want it.” She was reluctant to go out with him, denied the first date for a few months, until she gave in.

“I went to Disney with Paulo Gustavo and he told me that I liked him. I was embarrassed to be with a younger guy, I didn’t want him to skip stages in life.”
