The iconic monster “Godzilla” returns in the new action movie titled “Godzilla Minus One”, directed by Japan’s Takashi Yamazaki.

The upcoming film brings the famous monster back to Japan sometime after World War II.

This is the first “Godzilla” movie to be released since 2018 and will open in the US in December.

“Godzilla Minus One” is the 37th film in Toho’s long-running monster franchise and is premiering at the Tokyo International Film Festival. The plot takes place as Japan tries to recover from World War II.

Director Takashi Yamazaki aims to bring out the “Japanese spirituality” that characterizes the 1954 original. He emphasizes the treatment of themes such as war and nuclear weapons. Additionally, he mentions the concept of “tatarigami” in Japan, which refers to good and evil gods, while emphasizing that Godzilla is half monster and half god.

The film’s cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando and Kuranosuke Sasaki.

The first official trailer has been released and it is impressive, giving a scary and exciting picture of the film that will surely captivate the fans.
