She chose not to remarry even after his death in 1977 at the age of 42. “To be honest with you, I never wanted to get married after him. I never felt any desire. No one could ever reach him» he said characteristically. Her decision did not change even when she welcomed her son Navarone Garibaldi into the world in 1987.
