Giovanna Ewbank was a reporter for Vídeo Show in 2016, when she decided to leave television for a while. Today, seven years later, she explained the reason that made her take a break from her career: the adoption of her eldest daughter Titi, 10.
“We got a provisional adoption and had to wait for the final one. They said she could leave in a week, a month, three months, a year… But, she couldn’t leave Malawi”, began Ewbank. She remembers that Bruno was recording a series at the time. “I was at the Video show and I called my director and said: ‘This, this and this is happening. I know I have a contract with you, but I’m not going back'”. She asked, “When are you coming back?” I said, “I don’t know.”
Giovanna, who is the mother of Bless and Zyan, also said that she stayed in the African country for three months until the final adoption. “It was a very painful process. Imagine meeting your daughter, knowing that you can give all the love in the world to that child and not being able to have her in your arms. It was the first adoption process between Malawi and Brazil, so we I was in the dark, I didn’t know what was going to happen,” he said.
After leaving Vídeo Show, Giovanna participated in several programs on GNT and later turned her career to social networks and the internet. Without working as an actress in a fiction production for seven years, Giovanna Ewbank returns in the series “The Magic of Aruna”, on Disney+, which premieres at the end of November.
