The year was 2020. At the Multishow Awards on that occasion, actress and presenter Tata Werneck made a joke about RedeTV’s low budget! that would make the broadcaster sue her. In court, Tata won the case.
However, in another edition of the awards this Tuesday (7), Werneck once again hit the net right at the beginning of the event.
“Two years ago I made a joke saying that my dress was the same value as the RedeTV schedule! and I was sued. I want to apologize and say that this year I came with a dress more expensive than the schedule for us not have this problem,” he said.
RedeTV! asked for compensation of R$50,000 for moral damages, as he claimed to have been the victim of “gratuitous and baseless attacks”. But the defeat happened.
In the final ruling of 2022, judge Flávia Almeida de Castro stated that moral damage is only recognized in exceptional situations, “especially for legal entities, especially when it affects the brand, good name and reputation of the company. It is not what happens in these cases.”
In other words: for the courts, Tatá just made a joke, “the presence of the intention to offend has not been proven”.
At the Multishow Awards, Tatá also joked about Sandy’s singleness “while Neymar is married” and the fact that, if she decides to separate from Rafa Vitti, she will need to use Criança Esperança to announce the breakup.
