The UK’s counter-terrorism hotline has received more than double the number of calls from citizens following the flare-up of tensions in the Middle East compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, in the period from the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th until October 25th the anti-terrorist service has received 1,350 reports and complaints from citizens.

Of these, about 200 contained useful informationa number almost four times that of last year.

In addition, complaints from citizens about content on the Internet that may violate anti-terrorist legislation have approached 2,000, with 350 of them needing further research.

Presenting the figures and thanking the audience, the Deputy Commander of the British Police’s counter-terrorism unit, Lawrence Taylor, warned that experience shows that Terrorists ‘see as attractive targets’ Christmas events.

Therefore, he called on citizens to be vigilant and “trust their instincts” if they believe that some complaint should be made to the authorities.
