Britney Spears’ recent biography, “The Woman in Me”, brought to light a controversy involving the singer and her mother, Lynne. In an excerpt from the book, Britney alleges that, in 2019, her parents discarded personal items of sentimental value while she was undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation clinic.
The artist specifically mentioned the loss of a diary containing poetry and other special texts written over three years, as well as her collection of Madame Alexander dolls, during her stay at home in Louisiana during the Covid-19 pandemic. The singer expressed her sadness at finding the shelves empty and accused her family of having disregarded her.
However, Lynne Spears took to social media this Thursday (9) to deny the allegations made by her eldest daughter. In one post, her mother explained: “I don’t know who told you I got rid of your dolls and diaries, but I would never do that! That would be cruel, because I know how much they mean to you.”
She continued the statement by stating that the items in question are equally special to her considering the years they spent together collecting them. Lynne assured that she still possesses these objects and expressed her willingness to send them back to Britney if she so desired. “Please tell me and know how much I love you,” concluded Lynne Spears.
