Member of the production team of the popular Israeli TV series “Fauda,” by Netflix, 38-year-old Matan Meir, was killed during the war against Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip. A reservist in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), he was among the soldiers who died in the line of duty in Gaza, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The cast of “Fauda” expressed their deep sadness at his death: “We are devastated to share that one of our Fauda family members, Matan Meir, has been killed in Gaza. Matan was an integral member of the crew. The cast and crew are devastated by this tragic loss. Our condolences to Matan’s family,” read a post from the “Fauda” cast on X, formerly Twitter.

“Fauda” means “chaos” in Arabic. This is also the name of the Netflix series about the Middle East. It consists of five seasons and has won the award for best drama TV series on Israeli television in 2015 and 2017.

The protagonists play members of Israel’s secret services, who carry out operations against terrorist organizations. The tragic irony is that the partner of the protagonist Lior Raz (who is very popular in his country as he is considered the Israeli “James Bond”, was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bodyguard, and now also stars in American productions) had been murdered by members of the Palestinian Hamas.
