The Public Defender’s Office of Mato Grosso do Sul responded to the request of the mother of Ana Clara Benevides, 23, and decided to release the young woman’s brother, who died at the singer Taylor Swift’s concert on Friday (17), to attend the wake, at city ​​of Sonora, in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The boy, whose identity was not disclosed nor the reason for his arrest, is detained in the neighboring city of Pedro Gomes and permission was granted during the shift of public defender Cristiano Ronchi Lobo, head of the 2nd Public Defender’s Office of Coxim (MS).

“The young woman’s mother came to us, we made the request and the escort was scheduled for his to Pedro Gomes, as it was during the day and considerably closer”, explained the public defender.

Ana Clara’s body arrived in Campo Grande in the early afternoon of this Monday (20), after a virtual fundraiser worth R$30,000 made by the singer Taylor Swift’s own fans and people who were moved by the young woman’s story. . The money paid for the transfer from Rio to the southern capital of Mato Grosso.

Ana Clara died after a cardiorespiratory arrest. She began to feel ill at the Engenhão stadium at the beginning of Taylor Swift’s first performance in Brazil for “The Eras Tour”. The thermometers in Rio de Janeiro registered 40ºC, while the sensation inside the stadium reached 60ºC. The public was prohibited from bringing water to the event and, according to reports from those present, the sale of water was not enough to meet public demand.

The young woman’s body will be taken by car to the Municipal Council of Sonora (MS), 361 km from the capital, where the wake will take place. The wake is scheduled to begin at 7pm in Sonora. The burial of Ana Clara Benevides is scheduled for 9 am, this Tuesday (21), in Pedro Gomes.
