Objects and furniture from the sets and costumes including a replica of the so-called dress Princess Diana’s “revenge” from the TV series “The Crown” is to be auctioned.
The replica of the facade and front door of the residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, (10 Downing Street) is sold at auction by Bonhams with an estimated price 20,000-30,000 British poundstogether with the replica of the famous wrought iron gate of Buckingham Palace, which is expected to sell for £6,000 – £8,000.
“The iconic costumes, props and sets from ‘The Crown’ have been extensively researched and created with truly impressive attention to detail by artisans. It’s an incredible opportunity to own items from the landmark series and also the closest one can get to the real thing – whether it’s the facade of 10 Downing Street or Princess Diana’s engagement ring,” said Charlie Thomas, director of of Bonhams UK for estate sales and private and iconic collections.
The auction will take place on 7 February 2024 at the auction house’s headquarters in London and online from 30 January to 8 February.
Exhibition with sets, costumes and objects will tour New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London before the auction, the proceeds of which will go towards establishing a scholarship scheme at the UK National Film and Television School.
The School has been part of the story of ‘The Crown’ from the beginning, with many of its graduates contributing to the show’s production over the years.
