Taylor Swift declined the offer to appear at the coronation of King Charles III. The 33-year-old singer turned down an offer to sing at the coronation last May in London, according to the new book “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” by author Omid Scobie.

Taylor Swift was in the middle of her ‘The Eras’ tour, while King Charles’ coronation took place on May 6. The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer was not the only artist who refused to perform at Charles’ coronation, the author says in his book.

Elton John also declined to perform due to some scheduling issues, his rep told US Weekly, adding that the other artists who declined to perform were the Spice Girls, Harry Styles and Adele.

Artists who performed at the event included Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli and Take That. Before the show in April, Perry said she was “grateful” to be a part of the event, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
