Charles Melton won the first acting award and fans of the series “Riverdale” they predict that he will also win an Oscar.

The 32-year-old American actor, who plays Reggie Mandle on the popular CW series, was named the winner of the Outstanding Supporting Actor category at the Gotham Film and Media Institute’s Gotham Awards in New York on Monday.

Charles Melton was awarded for his role in Todd Haynes’ black comedy May December.

His performance as naive Joe stood out from those of Ryan Gosling in the movie “Barbie”, Claire Foy in the movie “All of Us Strangers” and Rachel McAdams in “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret’.

Visibly surprised by his win, the actor took to the stage to accept the award to a standing ovation and thanked his co-stars Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, whom he described as “legends”, and the film’s director.
