Rotterdam: Ready to take Bezos with the … eggs for the demolition of a bridge so that his yacht can pass

by

Residents of the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands are literally ready to throw eggs at billionaire Jeff Bezos after the announcement of the plan to temporarily dismantle a historic bridge to allow the passage of his super yacht.

According to Business Insider, a group of locals organized an event in which they intend to throw rotten eggs on the super yacht of the founder of Amazon, if the iconic Koningshaven bridge in Rotterdam is dismantled.

For this purpose, an internet call was created through a Facebook page with over 2,800 people having stated that they will attend the event called “Flying eggs on the super yacht Jeff Bezos”!

At the same time, almost 10,000 others have stated that they are “interested” in the event on the page.

The iconic Koningshaven Bridge dates back to 1878 and was repaired after being bombed in 1940 during World War II.

But it has a very low altitude for the passage of the American billionaire’s yacht, which is a luxury yacht worth 430 million euros built in the country, according to local media.

The shipbuilding company asked the municipality of Rotterdam to temporarily dismantle the bridge, removing its central section so that the ship could pass underneath.

“This is the only passage to the sea,” a spokesman for the municipality of Rotterdam told AFP, adding that the costs of the operation would be borne by the shipbuilding company.

The yacht is currently being built in Alblasserdam, near Rotterdam, and is expected to spend the summer under the Kινnigsawenbrug bridge, which is too low for the three-mast sailboat.
