In March 1965, I traveled to Los Angeles to accept an award from the Producers Guild for my student film “It’s Not Just You, Murray!”. I was 22 at the time. A much older director was also honored at the same event. His name was Alfred HitchcockMartin Scorsese said.

Fifty-eight years later, I am proud to say that I am now the much older director. And I’m thrilled and honored to receive an award named after a true legend among producers, David O. Selznick. It makes me feel like it’s coming full circle».
