The week was full of great emotions for Ju Massaoka, entertainment reporter at Globo. After almost being robbed during a live appearance at Encontro com Patrícia Poeta, on Friday (8), she discovered that her name was being used to carry out virtual scams.

The alert was published by her on social media this Saturday (9). “There is someone with this cell phone number trying to impersonate me,” she wrote over a screenshot that showed a WhatsApp screen with her photo and a number with area code 21. “It’s a scam,” she warned her followers.

Massaoka was also on É de Casa this Saturday morning, in which he spoke about the attempted theft. She showed the cell phone case, which has a strap and helped keep the device in her hand when the robber pulled it.

“I held it like that and the guy didn’t take it, but I kept thinking after the penny dropped, it cooled down, that if this man reacts…”, he commented. “I didn’t let him complete the theft he wanted, if he comes back to try to attack me…”

“I don’t even know if it was a good idea to pull out my cell phone, but at the time we don’t think about it,” he continued. “It’s such an instinctive reaction, it’s almost a reflex, you don’t think about the possible consequences. The situation is really complicated.”

The reporter, who presents Ana’s Feed on Mais Você, also spoke about the situation of violence in the capital of São Paulo. “It’s a feeling of fear, of insecurity, but it’s about not letting fear paralyze us,” she said. “The city is ours, it belongs to the worker, we need to occupy the spaces.”

“Of course, trying to hide our belongings, unfortunately, because of the violence, but we can’t help but leave the house, get trapped, because of these robbers that are out there,” he said.
