Actor Renato Aragão, known as Didi, came to the defense of his daughter Lívian Aragão after she was criticized on social media for a video in which she talks about productivity.
Lívian, who works as a motivational coach, said that “everyone has 24 hours in a day” and questioned why some people are able to “do so many things” while others “seem to never move”.
After the repercussions, Lívian was harshly criticized. Didi published a photo with her to show her support. “Daughter, I’m very proud of the woman you are. I love you”, wrote the comedian.
The video was published on Lívian’s Instagram profile on December 5th, but it was this week that the content went viral. Internet users stated that the coach’s speech disregards privileges and social inequality in the country.
Influencer Nath Finance countered Renato Aragão’s daughter’s speech. “Ok love, use your 24 hours to take three hours of public transport, work to earn minimum wage, try to find time to study/go to college, have a social life and eat well”, he posted on the social network X, formerly Twitter. “Very easy to say as an heiress.”
Lívian spoke out and stated that the viral video is just an excerpt from a specific moment of the lecture, which has “a much larger context”.
“I am fully aware of my privileges. I was born into a family that could provide me with good studies and opportunities,” he said. “I wasn’t referring to the whole world. I never intended to say that everyone has the same opportunities.”
