The Court of Auditors of the State of Goiás ordered the seizure of singer Zezé Di Camargo’s bank accounts due to a debt related to non-payment. The debt would be ten years of water and sewage bills for a property in Goiânia. The action, filed by the Goiás Sanitation Company (Saneago), says that the total value exceeds R$ 17 thousand.
In a statement released by the singer’s legal advisor on social media this Wednesday (20), Zezé Di Camargo’s defense says that the debt is under discussion and needs to be further analyzed. He calls the debt of R$17,000 “a low value” and that the payment obligation is not definitive because the charge can still be considered “mistaken and illegal”.
The countryman’s lawyers emphasized in the statement that the amount is deposited in court: “The amount discussed is deposited in court, that is, paid off by the artist Zezé Di Camargo, however, it will be kept in court until the final decision “.
The singer’s conviction disclosed in the process refers to the payment of the monthly bills for water and sewage consumption, between the period of July 23, 1994 and November 17, 2004. The case was opened on December 19, 2012, to charge around R$10,000, but the current value described in the case records is R$17,404.70.
