Presenter Monark (Bruno Aiub), 31, said in his last live as a member of the Flow Podcast, held on Tuesday night (8), that even after his departure from the project he will continue to produce content. “I, of course, will have my stops and I will continue producing in my corner there. We will have a reimbursement agreement”, he stated.
Monark, who is co-creator of Flow, was dropped from the podcast after defending the existence of a Nazi party in last Monday’s episode (7). The negative repercussion of the speech made partners leave the project and led to the disconnection of the presenter. “We came to the conclusion that it was the best thing, Flow needs to transcend Monark”, began the now ex-member.
Igor Coelho, 37, founding partner of the podcast, stated that the project will continue even with the presenter’s departure. Also in the live, Coelho explained that he will buy Monark’s share in the company, which is equivalent to 50%, and that the decision was made to keep not only Flow Studios, but also the employment of many employees of the company – it would be about 80.
“Unfortunately, I made a mistake in the way I communicated, and a lot of people ended up understanding that I was defending something that I’m totally against. It’s better to take my guilt”, added the youtuber. Throughout the live, Coelho and Monark welcomed Professor André Lajst to debate Nazism.
The teacher commented on Monday’s episode and also talked about the holocaust, throughout the live. “We cannot normalize evil, and the world is not a utopia of words,” said Lajst. “We can build a better world and we must have responsibilities.”
The presenter’s comment was made during an interview with federal deputies Tabata Amaral (PSB) and Kim Kataguiri (DEM) — who have also received criticism. “The radical left has a lot more space than the radical right, in my opinion,” Monark began.
“They both had to have space, in my opinion,” Monark said. “I think the Nazi had to have the Nazi party recognized by law.” Tabata Amaral countered the podcaster. The rejection of Monark’s comment, however, was not limited to the speech of the deputy on the program.
With the negative repercussion, Monark was disconnected from the Flow channel and the studio lost several sponsors. Flow also released a note apologizing for the presenter’s speech, “especially to the Jewish community”, and informing about the withdrawal of the episode.
“We reinforce our commitment to democracy and human rights. Thus, episode 545 of the Flow Podcast was taken off the air on all platforms. We also communicate the decision that, as of this moment, youtuber Bruno Aiub (@Monark) is disconnected from Flow Studios”, reads the text.
