Who is Adrilles Jorge, former BBB fired from Jovem Pan after gesture associated with Nazism

Fired this Wednesday (9) by Jovem Pan after making a gesture associated with Nazism on a live broadcast, Adrilles Jorge, 47, has been collecting controversies since the time he participated in Big Brother Brasil (Globo), in 2015, when it became known to the public.

The Minas Gerais writer finished the reality in fourth place, leaving with 65% of the votes in a wall against Cézar Lima, who was crowned the winner of the 15th edition of the reality. Adrilles was also the protagonist of fights on the show, such as a clash with Luan Patrício who joined the list of the biggest shacks of the BBB.

Some of the phrases he uttered on the program became a joke on the internet and a reason for discussion. At one point, he said that Vinicius de Moraes, if he were not a poet, would be considered “a fifth-rate scoundrel”.

For the program colleague Tamires, for whom he declared himself in love and was not reciprocated, he wrote a poem during the confinement: “I love you in pieces, sliced. …”.

After leaving the BBB, Adrilles released, still in 2015, the poetry book “Antigame”. “Not all poems in this book are equally good, but none are bad and some are really very good”, said in the ear of the publication the writer Olavo de Carvalho, Bolsonarismo guru who died on January 24th.

In recent years, Adrilles has become notable as a staunch supporter of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and for his controversial comments in Jovem Pan. In 2020, before Regina Duarte took over the Special Secretariat for Culture, she posted a video of the former BBB ranting against what he called “cultural Marxism”, which he considers a movement of the left to gain territory in the culture industry.

“What does cultural Marxism do? It pits blacks against whites, women against men, homosexuals against heterosexuals,” stated Adrilles in the edited video of Jovem Pan’s Morning Show. “Who is this guy?!”, asked Regina in the publication. “What a nice, deep, super-real statement,” she praised.

The former BBB participant also gave a good assessment of a public notice launched by the “Nazistan”, in reference to the Bolsonaro government’s incentive program that had been announced by Roberto Alvim, before the former secretary was fired for having copied phrases from Joseph Gobbels in a video address. “The Nazi project was good” because it would foster everything from opera to comics, he said.

In October of last year, another controversy. Adrilles clashed with André Marinho over the demand made by the comedian for Bolsonaro to answer a question about “cradinha”. At the time, the president abandoned the interview that was carried out on the Pânico program, on Jovem Pan.

A Bolsonarist, Adrilles had previously questioned Bolsonaro about how the president manages to “face a gigantic wave of disinformation” against him from the “progressive narrative hegemony”.

FRIENDSHIP WITH PEDRO BIAL

In 2018, in an interview with the blog Pretexto, by Ricardo Pierocini, Pedro Bial, who was presenter of the BBB until 2016, said that Adrilles Jorge was the only participant in the reality show with whom he became friends. “A poet of great value, a very cultured man and to this day we talk to each other”, said the journalist.

But in June last year, the writer told the Cortes +1 podcast that Bial no longer spoke to him because of his position as a Bolsonaro supporter. “He loved me, called me brother […] we exchanged stickers, exchanged books, exchanged ideas, debated about various things, but he entered this genocidal Bolsonaro wave,” he said.

“One day he [Bial] came to me and said ‘you have become a fierce supporter of this genocide’. Then I said: ‘ah Pedro, this is a kind of childish thing of yours’ […] I’m a little lazy about it and it’s really an agenda that I think is very absurd for you to attribute to a man, to a government, Nazi, genocidal intentions, of absolute scoundrels, when I think that’s an exaggeration”, said Adrilles.

UNDERSTAND THE DISMISSAL

The most recent controversy involving Adrilles happened on Tuesday night (8) in a news broadcast live by Jovem Pan. He made a gesture associated with Nazism at the end of the program that addressed the Monark case, former presenter of the Flow Podcast, who defended the existence of a Nazi party.

Through social networks, Adrilles commented on his departure and thanked the old channel for the chance. “I was fired from Jovem Pan for saying a bad goodbye to cancellers. I thank you for the opportunity and all the friends I made there and who trust and support me”, posted Adrilles.

Before his dismissal, he had already denied having given a Nazi salute. “The insanity of the cancellers has exceeded the limit of madness. After a vehement speech of mine against any defense of Nazism, a goodbye is interpreted as a Nazi salute. Nazi is the canceller rage that does not see its own criminal sense”, he said.
