However, according to reports, Juan Carlos, when he abdicated in favor of his son, was accused of playing a role in “stirring up” rumors about the alleged relationship between Queen Letizia and her former brother-in-law
The royal throne of Spain is “shaking” under the weight of new revelations about his alleged relationship with Letitia of Spain, which her former brother-in-law, businessman Jaime del Burgo, made.
The businessman, who lives in the United Kingdom, published on X, on the 26th of the month, a photo of Letitia, looking interesting, taken by her in a bathroom mirror, as proof of their relationship.
At the same time, she republished an alleged message from her to him.
“Love. I’m wearing your pashmina. It’s like I feel you next to me. He takes care of me. He protects me. I’m counting the hours until we meet again. I love you. Go away. Yours”.
It is noted that Jaime subsequently deleted his posts, which he later regretted, stating in a new post that in a few hours, the famous photo of the pashmina had been viewed by 24 million people
“It was wrong to delete my posts. That’s why today I wanted to recover the most important ones”, he said and narrated to his 23,000 followers the “four stages of the relationship” with Letitia.
1) Love affair, from 2002 to 2004.
2) Friends and partners in the broadest sense of the term, from 2004 to 2010.
3) Long term and continuous love affair, 2010 and 2011.
4) Brothers-in-law, from 2012 to 2016.
“It’s the third relationship to end abruptly after two years, a few months after Letitia abdicated as Princess of Asturias, divorced Felipe and our life as a couple in New York was what we had planned.”
The 53-year-old therefore claims that he and Letitia were a couple, before he married her younger sister Thelma Ortiz, with whom he is now divorced, before and during the marriage with Felipe.
In another post, he shared details of a weekend in July 2010 in which he says Letitia told him she loved him while they were at the Palace, lying in the same hammock. He wrote: “That moment, in the hammock, was one of those life-changing moments. That same night our love affair resumed, which was interrupted years ago, because the love was always there since our first trip to Venice in 2002.
“We traveled to Cape Verde, Greece on a cruise, the United States, the countryside in England, Provence in France, until the end of 2014. He came to London, I came to Madrid. For a year and a half we thought and took steps forward with the goal of being single, we dealt with the issue of divorce, the girls, sought legal advice, looked at a house together in Florida… We considered New York as the best option for permanent residence, my the idea was suggested that we would have a child with a surrogate mother in Los Angeles.”
In another post, he states that the media offered him money to speak, and he responded with his “go to hell” silence.
He added: “I think what I need is to put an end to a long chapter and draw conclusions that help us improve. And in order to do this one must report one’s own mistakes and the mistakes of others. Because you learn from mistakes.’
Describing who the Queen of Spain really is, he states that “Letitia is left-wing (she is, at heart, anti-monarchy, anti-Catholic, communist, etc.), always has been and I love her the same because of her political leanings.”
Before Christmas, Jaime insisted “the truth will come out” in a social media post.
Writing in X, he emphasized that “Spanish people have the right to know who represents us hereditary or electorally, what is hidden behind the spotlight, the direction and the performance.”
The post, from December 16, also included a photo of a book titled “El valor de la verdad” – meaning “The Value of Truth” – by MarÃa José Frápolli and Juan A. Nicolás.
The Spanish royal family must surely be in shock over the alleged affair scandal. The Spanish court has repeatedly declined to comment.
According to reports, however, Juan Carlos, king of Spain from 1975 to 2014 when he abdicated in favor of his son, has been accused of playing a role in “stirring up” rumors of an alleged affair between Queen Letizia and her former brother-in-law. A veteran Spanish journalist has accused supporters of Juan Carlos, who lives in Abu Dhabi, of mounting a “campaign” against his son Felipe.
