Dance Wednesdays at Thision Theatre: “Bits and Pieces” by Alexandros Kyriazis

The Thision Theater presents a new cycle of Dance performances, with works by renowned choreographers alternating throughout the year. Wednesday 3 and 10 January 2024: “Bits and Pieces” by Alexandros Kyriazis: Bits and Pieces takes as its starting point the theory of the “internal group” of Friedemann Schulz von Thun, a psychologist and expert in intrapersonal and interpersonal communication. The “inner group” describes how each person has a set of voices in their head. A kind of internal polyphony. The project examines the different characteristics and various functions of these voices. Additionally, it examines how having these different perspectives can overstimulate and ultimately exhaust a person.

in utero [ή] what do you find of yours, in the solitude of the tomb-like chamber?, directed by Konstantinos Papasotiropoulos at the Sfendoni Theater

The project “in utero [ή] what do you find yours, in the solitude of the tomb-like chamber?”, a narrative-installation about marriage, based on the novel of Mrs. Ersis by N. G. Pentzikis, published by Agra, Athens, 1992 and in a diary entry of Giorgos Seferis, presented at the Sfendoni Theatre, directed by Konstantinos Papasotiropoulos. “The butterfly that was in her eyes raised its wings and uncovered their dry bed, where as if by a miracle, endless tears began to flow. She wept, wept until the tears flooded the empty sockets, and her eyes rose again, like two cell nuclei in an orgasm of regeneration and multiplication, forming the virtual spindles of karyokinesis with the petaloid separations of the chromosomes and their movements from the two poles, to the new common membrane of separation that life imposes. Then she really felt Pavlos next to her, who was leaning down and kissing her eyelids.” *Starring: Stefanos Vlachos and Cilia Bisioti.

Performances: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 21:15.
Tickets: From €10. Presale: more.com.
