Actress Carrie Bernans, 29, who starred in the film “Black Panther” (2018) was the victim of a car accident in the early hours of Monday (1) in New York, United States. She was outside a restaurant at around 1:30 in the morning, when an out-of-control vehicle entered the place. According to the North American press, the driver was drunk and when fleeing a police chase, he hit the interpreter of the Dora Milaje warrior.
Carrie had multiple fractures and her condition is considered stable by the medical team. She even shared a video to reassure family and friends about her health. The actress explained that despite the injuries to her hands and legs, the injuries to her mouth are the most painful, as her teeth were broken and chipped in the accident.
The artist also showed the breastfeeding process while still in the hospital. Despite the intense pain, Carrie has been pumping milk to feed her young son who is in her family’s care.
“It’s hard not to cry at night, but crying hurts too – just like crying – but God is bigger and I’m still here (…) I know I’m strong as hell and I might be feeling the worst pain of my life, but here I am,” he wrote.
The family and friends of Carrie, who also starred in “Avengers: Endgame”, organized a virtual fundraiser to pay for the future surgeries she will need to undergo, such as teeth reconstruction. The money will also be used to help her financially over the next five or six months, during which time she will be away from the sets and theater.
