Famous young pop star Selena Gomez – who recently announced she wants to pursue acting – will play legendary country, rock ‘n’ roll and Latin singer Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.
The pop singer and “Only Murders in the Building” star revealed her plans by posting a photo of Linda Rodstad’s 2013 memoir “Simple Dreams” in an Instagram post.

The film is in pre-production, with Ronstadt’s manager John Boylan producing and James Keats, who produced the 2019 documentary Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.
No other details about the cast have been announced.
Rodchand and Gomez are both of Mexican descent.
