Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ leads nominations for this year’s Bafta Film Awardswith a total of 13 nominations. Among them, one for him Cillian Murphy for the role of J Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist described as The “father” of the atomic bomb.

“Oppenheimer’s” rival at the summer box office, “Barbie,” received five nominations, tied with cult drama Saltburn.

The actress plays Bella, a woman who is brought back to life using the brain of her unborn child by an unconventional scientist. The film recently won seven Golden Globes, including the actress, who “walked away” with the award for best actress in a comedy or musical.

The Bafta Film Awards 2024 will take place on February 18 at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London. The ceremony will be hosted by David Tennant.
