Malia Obama, daughter of former US President Barack Obama participates in Sundance Film Festival with the short film “The Heart”.

According to “The Hollywood Reporter” the project that bears her signature in script and direction will be screened in the category of American short films. It follows a grieving son whose mother wrote a strange wish in her will.

“The film is about lost objects and lonely people, about forgiveness and sadness,” 25-year-old Malia said in an interview about the film.

“We hope you enjoy the film and that it makes you feel a little less alone, or at least reminds you not to forget the people who are,” he added.

According to People, the eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama was all smiles as she posed on the Festival’s red carpet, dressed casually.

He previously worked as a writer on Donald Glover’s Prime Video series The Swarm. The famous Festival will last until January 28.
