Tech giants have very strange eating habits – From Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, to Richard Branson and Sam Altman
Some tech billionaires have revealed their eating habits, which are sometimes outrageous and unhealthy. More recently, Mr Elon Musk stated that he eats a donut every morning!
Just because billionaires have the money to pay expensive personal chefs or high-end health food doesn’t mean they follow diets that are good for them.
There are tech billionaires who enjoy eating chocolate for breakfast or skip food altogether for days at a time. So when it comes to wealth, you might want to follow the lead of these ‘techies’, but think twice when it comes to health.

Richard Branson
Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, drinks 20 cups of tea a day. “I’m not sure how I’d survive without English Breakfast tea”, he told the Daily Mail in 2016. Branson starts his day with fruit salad and muesli for breakfast. Occasionally, the billionaire eats a herring-like fish.
The billionaire fills his days with exercise, time with his family and business meetings, which he prefers to schedule “over lunch,” he said in a 2017 blog post.
For dinner, he has said he prefers group meals “where stories are shared and ideas are born.” Branson said he goes to bed around 11 p.m. and gets about six hours of sleep each night.

Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos’ fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, said her partner makes pancakes every Sunday morning.
“She pulls out the Betty Crocker cookbook every time and I’m like, ‘OK, you’re the smartest person in the world, why haven’t you memorized it yet?'” Sanchez told the Wall Street Journal.
The former news anchor said Bezos is also “extremely committed to his workouts, with personal trainer Wes Okerson.”
In a 2014 meeting with a small e-commerce company that was eventually acquired by Amazon, Bezos ordered a breakfast of octopus, potatoes, bacon, green garlic yogurt and poached eggs, according to a “D Magazine” report.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk doesn’t have the healthiest diet either. “If there was a way to not eat so I could work more, I wouldn’t eat”Elon Musk said in Ashlee Vance’s biography Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future.
Musk used to skip breakfast or eat a Mars bar or a donut to start his day.
“I’m trying to cut back on sweets and I have to eat an omelette,” Musk said in 2017, according to Entrepreneur.
However, the billionaire told X earlier this year that he eats a donut every morning. “I’d rather eat delicious food and live a shorter life”Musk told Joe Rogan in 2020.
His lunch is equally insignificant. The billionaire said that whatever his assistant brings to him during meetings, he “inhales in five minutes.”
