THE Austin Butler reveals the secrets behind his transformation into Elvis Presley for the recent biopic ‘Elvis’.

In an interview with the “Late Show,” the 32-year-old actor opened up about his role and the tough preparation it required.

To avoid the trap of Elvis Presley’s accent, Butler revealed that he sought the help of a voice teacher.

This effort was crucial, as the actor had to learn to break away from Elvis’ vocal identity and enrich his own performance.

Butler revealed that after filming ended he felt a strange loss of identity, saying: “Once filming was over, I was just trying to remember who I was, what I liked to do before. For three years, all I could think about was Elvis.”

In addition, the actor mentioned his role in the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries “Masters of the Air” about World War II.

Explaining his preparation, he stated: “I had a week off and then flew to London. At that time it was Covid so I was quarantined for 10 days. And I thought, ‘OK, just put all your energy into learning about World War II.’“.

Butler also mentions that he had a dialect teacher to reduce Elvis’ influence on his English accent, which he describes as one of the most difficult parts of the preparation.

I don’t think I sound like him yet, but I guess I probably do, because I hear it a lot from people“, he added with a smile.
