Brad Pitt reportedly starring in Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, “The Movie Critic”according to a report by “Deadline”.

The two had previously worked together again in the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Pitt also starred in 2009’s “Inglourious Basterds” and starred in 1993’s “True Romance,” which he co-wrote with Tarantino.

Set in Los Angeles, the new film, which is said to be Tarantino’s last, is set in 1977 and is about a critic who works for a fictional publication called ‘The Popstar Pages’. Tarantino has said it’s “based on a guy who really lived, but was never famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a newspaper.” And he added: “He was very rude, you know. He was cursing. He used racial slurs. But what he said was funny. He was rude as hell.”

It is unclear what Pitt’s role will be.

“He wrote about mainstream movies and was the second-line critic,” Tarantino also told Deadline at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. “I think he was a very good critic. He was very cynical. His reviews were a cross between an early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a movie critic.”

Tarantino has previously stated that the protagonist will be “someone around 35” and “a new protagonist for me”.

The writer-director has previously called Pitt “one of the last remaining big screen movie stars.” Once Upon a Time in Hollywood grossed $377 million worldwide.
