Actress Sydney Sweeney, 24, who plays Cassie in the series “Euphoria” (HBO), said she asked director Sam Levinson to cut some scenes from episodes in which her character appears with her breasts exposed.
“There are times when [minha personagem] Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would say to Sam, ‘I really don’t think that’s necessary here’.”
“I never felt like Sam pushed me or was trying to put a nude scene on an HBO show,” Sweeney continued. “When I didn’t want to do that, he didn’t make me,” she added, who said that with the 2nd season, she felt more comfortable to give an opinion on the character’s trajectory.
In addition, the actress says that she also asked that the moments in which Cassie’s feelings are addressed be greater. She revealed that one of them, the fight between her and Nate, played by Jacob Elordi, in the fourth episode of the new season was rewritten hours before filming began.
“Jacob and I did the scene the way it was written, and we were like, ‘There are so many other things that are piling up here, let’s keep going,'” he says. The idea of the scene was to end with Nate berating Cassie for dating her best friend’s ex-boyfriend.
The director decided to rewrite the scene, which ended up being five pages longer. In the new version, Cassie had an outbreak at the thought that Nate would abandon her for his best friend. “I’ve let go of any judgments about myself, I’m so proud of Cassie’s breakdown this season,” she added.
