It started. The indoor carnival parties in Rio de Janeiro began in the early hours of this Sunday (4th) — the blocks, as well as across the country, have been on the streets for a long time. The Vogue Ball, which this year had the theme “Galáctika”, took more than 1,500 people to the Copacabana Palace halls on a very hot night and with the promise that the star of “Fifty Shades of Grey”, Dakota Johnson.

She’s in Brazil to promote the film “Madame Teia”, and the party organizers, who aren’t stupid or anything, tried to hire her to stop by. A little jump might even be the best word to describe what was seen at the World Cup.

Dakota has a reputation for being friendly, until she tried hard. But perhaps due to the heat or the exhaustion of a very tight publicity schedule, she didn’t spend even five minutes on the red carpet, the traditional point for quick interviews with journalists. With the thermometers hitting 30 degrees and in all that frenzy, her skin was impeccable, which caused admiration from a reporter there: “The fagot didn’t even have a moustache of sweat, man! She looked like she was in the snow.”

Accompanied by director SJ Clarkson and surrounded by a team of nine people, she stopped at three different points, smiled to be photographed, and did not speak to anyone. There was only interaction when she gave a thumbs up when asked if she was enjoying Brazil. The actress then went to a private room and left through another exit 15 minutes later.

Celebrities made in Brazil kept arriving, and one of them was Flávia Alessandra, who was all in skin-colored tones, Flicts (Hello, Ziraldo!). She was sweating profusely, which smudged the makeup on her face a little. She carried a life-size doll, and used neutral language to define it. “Elu It could be a companion, a person who supports me, or someone toxic,” he said, adding that his inspiration for the costume was the film Blade Runner.

And Deborah Secco? Well, Deborah was more Deborah than ever and she appeared covered in green from head to toe, literally, to embody an extraterrestrial mother, who disembarks from another planet in the middle of Carnival. She even brought a baby in a stroller. “I already came sensual, glamorous, sexy… This time I decided to come weird,” she said. “I really wanted to shock.”

There was a line of celebrities and influencers waiting to walk the red carpet. Behind Carol Trentini, for example, was Luiza Brunet, who was soon asked about her daughter Yasmin’s participation in BBB 24. “Wow, it’s a pain to watch everything all the time”, she said, before engaging in a chat with the Rio designer Alessa.

The photos were taken with the sponsors’ brands behind them (the good old backdrop), but Carolina Dieckmann, who had professional commitments with a single company, did not pose. “Wait, I need to go there and do something.” She went to another part of the hotel, did her commercial, walked around and left. On her way out, she agreed to be photographed, but against a neutral background, away from the backdrop.

Still in terms of costumes and allegories, the big surprise of the night was seeing Sabrina Sato appear in jeans and flip-flops (for the brand for which she is the poster girl). She was staying at the Copa and just went to say hello to the staff before going to the Vila Isabel rehearsal. “Would I be like this on another planet?”, she wrote, a fan of very elaborate productions, on her Instagram, cleverly using the theme of the party to justify the simplicity of her outfit.

Inside, it was like that: lots of drinks, special drinks prepared to order in several bars spread throughout the rooms, a buffet with dishes that provide “sustainability”—ravioli, braised breast, fillet in glazed sauce, farofa, salads, a table of cold cuts and sweets thick, like tapioca pudding—for people to get through the night.

Preta Gil began the series of shows with tributes to Rita Lee and Gal Costa, in a sequence that included the drums and dancers from Grande Rio, Buchecha and Gloria Groove. She appeared at the party dressed as “Xuxa das Galáxias”, all synthetic and with several lights spread across her body. “Impossible hot, help!” she commented. Xuxa was also honored by her daughter, Sasha, who revisited the archives of the 1989 film “Xuxa e os Trapalhões”, to wear an outfit with a cosmic feel.

Outside the bustling halls and close to the balcony, promoter Carol Sampaio, in her eighth month of pregnancy, said that next week she will be in Sapucaí, where she invites the VIPs from a box. She also guarantees that she will be firm and strong at Rock in Rio, when the baby is six months old.

“I’m going to stay at a hotel nearby, with a nanny, anything I’ll go there and come back.” It was curious to notice how absolutely all the people who came to greet her, of the most varied levels of intimacy, already arrived placing their hands on her huge belly, without the slightest ceremony. It was as if it were a public asset. “I would rather they didn’t do it, it’s strange, right? But I know they do it out of affection”, says, diplomatically, the most famous promoter in Rio de Janeiro.
