Then, the “red and white” took the reins of the match through their defense and with the hungry duo Mitrou-Long and Petrusev, they went to +12 again (27-39), in the 18th minute. In the remaining time, both made mistakes and were off target, with one shot by Etsenike making it 28-39 in the first half.
In the first two minutes of the second half, Olympiacos went to +12 (30-42), with Prometheus answering again with good defenses and the three-pointers of Cowan and Hale and with individual scores of 10-1 (40-43), until the 24th. Then, the Piraeus made repeated defenses with steals and with protagonists Walkap, Wright and Kanan escaped to +17 (42-59), in the 28th minute. A 3-pointer by Cowan was the response from the home team, with Wright sending Barzoka’s team up +18 (45-63) at the end of the third period.
Prometheus took advantage of Olympiakos’ laxity at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with Bazina and Reynolds reducing the difference (52-65) in the first four minutes. The “red and whites”… broke the deadlock with a three-pointer by Luntzis with the Patrinos from that point and then giving up the match. Thus, with Petrusev in front, the Piraeus went to +24 (55-79), in the 38th minute. Nothing changed in the final minutes, with Olympiakos winning the final 57-81.
