In the fourth Gnomo of BBB 24, Rodriguinho, Pitel, Fernanda, MC Bin Laden and Juninho listed their favorite works of pop culture. The participants disagreed with each other’s opinions, but showed themselves to be in tune with the nerd universe, during the early hours of this Tuesday (6).
The most impactful question of the moment of relaxation was asked by MC Bin Laden. “Do you prefer Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings?” He questioned.
Rodriguinho replied, without hesitation, that he preferred the wizarding universe created by JK Rowling. “It’s really good, you have to go to the Harry Potter park, ride the rides, drink butterbeer, that’s it,” he said.
Pitel and Bin also came out as “potterheads”, an English term to refer to the wizard’s fans, which means “Potter in the head”. Leader Fernanda disagreed with the group and said she preferred the adventures in Middle Earth invented by JRR Tolkien. “Magic and warriors, understand? I love it all.”
The discussion between the two fantasy works is popular in geek groups. The rivalry was also part of the lyrics of the 2020 song “Procuro Someone”, by rapper Djonga. In one part of the song he sings, “someone who likes Harry Potter and hates Lord of the Rings, like me.”
Before the debate, around 5am, the group lamented the fact that Tom Cruise, 61, from Mission: Impossible, had never won an Oscar. Juninho was still awake at that point in the conversation.
“I really like Mercenaries, Avengers”, said Rodriguinho. There was consensus between the brothers. The harmony lasted until Pitel asked, “Have you ever seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse?”
“Sucks,” replied the singer. Fernanda also agreed. The pair of critics only implicated Miles Morales’ alter ego, the black hero. But they admitted to liking the versions in which Peter Parker, the white spider, is the secret identity of their friendly neighborhood friend.
Another hero also had some detonated versions. Fernanda said she didn’t like Batman played by Ben Affleck, 51. Pitel and Rodriguinho joined in and went further. The two said they found Batman boring, “he’s just rich”, commented Pitel.
MC Bin Laden retorted, “but it’s the same thing as Iron Man. Why do you like one and not the other?” Rodriguinho said he saw a difference, “One is technology, it flies and so on. Now, little bat?”
The pagodeiro also said he preferred American actor Jared de Leto’s joker, 52, in Suicide Squad, than Joaquin Phoenix’s, 49, “a lot of crying. I don’t want to see the joker crying, I want to see him killing others”, he pointed out.
“But you have to understand that he is a product of society,” bin Laden said. “In the film you even see that the government stopped giving him the medicine he needed,” he continued.
Rodriguinho followed up on the subject and said he really liked the first Black Panther film, but not the second.
Everyone in the room laughed about it.
