“I don’t even know how to samba. But this is one of the most important days of my life.” It was in this way that Adriano Imperador, already on top of his float, summarized the F5 the experience of participating as a highlight of the São Paulo Carnival, even before the parade begins.
In the plot of the Green and White Shirt, the first to enter the Anhembi Sambadrome on Friday night (9), the former Flamengo and São Paulo player was honored.
Happy and smiling, he waved tirelessly to whoever called him at the bottom of the float. Upon receiving a bottle of water, he said: “I would prefer ‘Danone’, that would be better”, he joked when referring to the beer he likes to drink.
And didn’t he succeed? After asking again, a can of Amstel arrived, from which he took a nice sip before returning it to whoever he had “borrowed” it from.
After an hour of stopping, Adriano started to get impatient, as he still had to wait a few more minutes for school to start. “Let me get down or I’ll jump, huh? Stay here for two hours?”, he said to one of the firefighters who were helping him, in a more forceful way.
“I’m scared of heights”, he confirmed to reporters who insisted on knowing how he was feeling at the top of the last float.
In a matter of five minutes, the school’s interpreters began to sing the samba, which made the Emperor calmer, less anxious and returned to playing with whoever was speaking to him.
