A new exhibition – an immersion into the mind of the legendary American director Tim Burton moves to Barcelona next month.
The exhibition on the creative universe of the director famous for the films “Edward Scissorhands” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will be hosted at the Palau de Victòria Eugènia from March 8.
After successful stops in Paris, Brussels and Madrid with a total of 600,000 visitors the “Tim Burton’s Labyrinth” exhibition travels to Barcelona.
The immersive experience consists of an hour-long maze-like journey that allows visitors to choose their own path through themed rooms filled with lights, music, projections, sculptures and meticulous details that bring Burton’s cinematic creations to life.
Guests who choose to experience ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ enter a room of mirrors with distorted candies, and those who enter the world of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ come face-to-face with a giant Jack Skellington seen above a door. Each space is a detailed miniature of the director’s world, and those who decide to enter will see their inner child emerge.
The exhibition also includes a collection of 200 original sketches personally donated by Tim Burton, featuring characters that never made it to the big screen.
“It’s a journey into Tim Burton’s mind that brings together his entire cinematic, artistic and narrative universe and transforms it into a physical and sensory journey,” said Elena Garan, director of communications for Letsgo, the creative team behind the exhibition.
