More than 1,000,000 travelers bathe in Loutra Pozar
The Pozar Baths, also known as Loutraki, Loutra Aridaias or simply Loutra, are one of the most impressive sights that nature itself has created in Greece. A different experience in a hot spring that you don’t come across often and winter is the best time to visit them.
The name of the Pozar Baths comes from the words “po” and “zar”, which mean “under the fire”. And the experience is exactly that. Dips that invigorate you with a kind of “wet fire”. This natural spa is located at the foot of Mount Kaimaktsalan, 10 kilometers away from the historic Aridaia. Hot water comes out of the springs of Aridaia, to be precise, water that has a constant temperature of 37 degrees Celsius all year round.
The natural waterfalls located on the spot create a landscape of rare beauty in the forest. The experience of bathing under the warm running water of the waterfalls is unique. The geyser that brings the hot water is created by springs that emerge at an altitude of 360-390 meters. Essentially, rainwater penetrates the ground reaching a great depth. After being heated, it rises higher enriched with minerals and other beneficial ingredients.
Over 1,000,000 visitors who arrive every year at Loutra Pozar bathe in this thermal water.
