Actress Maria, 21, was expelled from Big Brother Brasil 22 (Globo) in the early afternoon of this Tuesday (15). The reason was the disproportionate force used by her when she threw water at Natalia in the Game of Discord. The bucket ended up hitting the participant hard on the head.
“Maria was disqualified from BBB 22 for failing to comply with one of the program’s rules,” Globo said in a statement. “After analyzing the images of the dynamics of the Game of Discord, an aggression by the participant to Natália was verified and, following the rules, the actress and singer was disqualified.”
The other participants were surprised to be informed about the broadcaster’s decision. Natalia cried a lot and needed to be supported by her colleagues. According to the broadcaster, Maria will not be replaced and tonight’s Paredão will be maintained, with Arthur, Bárbara and Natália in the hot seat.
After the aggression, last night, presenter Tadeu Schmidt questioned how Natália had felt after having her head hit by Maria. Nat said that it hurt, but that she could play along. Maria apologized and claimed that the bucket had slipped from her hand.
On social media, however, Maria’s name linked to the term “aggression” was among the most talked about topics on Monday night (14) and Tuesday morning. A lot of people asked for her to be excluded from the game.
At one point in the morning, netizens commented that the confessional cameras had been turned off while Maria and Lucas were talking in the room so that the audience would not see the conversation between the program director and the participant, but moments later the images returned.
At around 12:45 pm on Tuesday, however, Maria was called to the confessional and never returned. The remaining participants were informed of the expulsion and were in shock. Some went to collect the sister’s belongings while others speculated on the repercussion of the episode outside the House.
Earlier, on the X-ray, Maria stated that she has a tendency to be aggressive in words and expressions, but never in the place of violence. She said at the time that she was worried and apologized again for the act. “I’m going to start looking at what has led me to this place [de agressividade]”, he said.
