Prince William will attend the glitzy British Academy Film Awards – also known as the BAFTA Awards – but without his wife Kate Middleton as she continues her recovery from abdominal surgery she underwent on January 16.

A statement issued by Kensington Palace confirmed that the Prince of Wales “will attend the BAFTA Film Awards at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, February 18,” as reported by People.

Prince William has been president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since February 2010, while his grandfather Philip was the first president of the Academy.

The host of this year’s ceremony is for the first time the Scottish actor and star of “Doctor Who” David Tennant. Among the presenters who will take to the stage of the Royal Festival Hall, will be Cate Blanchett (Cate Blanchett), Hugh Grant (Hugh Grant), Bryce Dallas Howard (Bryce Dallas Howard), Dua Lipa and David Beckham (David Beckham).
